Construction Alert: STANWIX STREET CLOSED BETWEEN FORT DUQUESNE BLVD AND PENN AVENUE
Ongoing construction in Downtown has caused the closing of Stanwix Street between Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Boulevard. The restrictions begin January 8, 2009. The work is associated with the construction of a new Gateway T Station.
MBRO is located in Four Gateway Center. For your convenience, parking is available in Gateway Center's underground parking garage. You can access the garage from either the Boulevard of the Allies, across from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette building; or from Liberty Avenue, across from the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel and next to the State Office Building. Parking is also available at the Kossman Building garage on Stanwix Street at Fourth Avenue (across the street from our building), or the Stanwix Street garage located on the corner of Stanwix Street and Ft. Duquesne Boulevard (across from Max & Erma’s).
Our building is located across and up the street from the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel (near Point State Park), and next to the State Office Building on Liberty Avenue, by the Gateway Center “T” station.
From the lobby of Four Gateway Center, the set of elevators labeled 1-11 can take you to the third floor where you'll find our offices.
From the Pittsburgh International Airport
Follow signs from the airport for 60 South and 279 North. Follow 279 North through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and onto the Fort Pitt Bridge. Once on the bridge, take the Liberty Avenue exit (it will be the middle exit of 3 exits). Go down the ramp through the light. Enter the Gateway Center Garage located on the right side of the road before the next light. Follow the interior garage signs to the Palomino Restaurant by taking the level 2 escalator into the lobby of Four Gateway Center.
From the North
Take I-79 South which merges into 279 South. Follow 279 South signs for Airport/Fort Pitt Bridge. Follow this sign over the Fort Duquesne Bridge and take the Ft. Duquesne Blvd. exit (it will be the middle exit of 3 exits). Go down the ramp through to the light. Make a right on to Stanwix street, then make a right on to Penn Avenue. Proceed to the turn around on to Liberty Avenue. Make a left on to Liberty Avenue and enter the Gateway Center Garage located on the right-hand side of the road just after the light. Follow the interior garage signs to the Palomino Restaurant by taking the level 2 escalator into the lobby of Four Gateway Center.
From the South
Take 279 North through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and over the Fort Pitt Bridge. Once on the bridge, take the Liberty Avenue exit (it will be the middle exit of 3 exits). Go down the ramp through the light. Enter the Gateway Center Garage located on the right side of the road before the next light. Follow the interior garage signs to the Palomino Restaurant by taking the level 2 escalator into the lobby of Four Gateway Center.
From the East
Take Turnpike (I-76 West) to Exit #57 “Pittsburgh” onto Parkway 376 West. Exit 376 at Exit #2 Stanwix Street (left-hand exit). Proceed straight through the light at the end of the Stanwix Street exit. Keep in far left lane and turn at the first light (onto the Boulevard of the Allies). Go to the far right lane and enter Gateway Center Garage. Follow the interior garage signs to the Palomino Restaurant by taking the level 2 escalator into the lobby of Four Gateway Center.
From the West
PA Turnpike (I-76 East) to Exit #28 (Old Exit #3) onto Route 19 South to I-79 South. I-79 South merges into 279 South. Follow 279 South signs for Airport/Fort Pitt Bridge. Go down the ramp through the light. Enter the Gateway Center Garage located on the right-hand side of the road before the next light. Follow the interior garage signs to the Palomino Restaurant by taking the level 2 escalator into the lobby of Four Gateway Center.
